Hallo and Happy Fourth from 59 Degrees North 7/3/23

Which, in addition to being the direction of the stock market is about where I am in charming Stavanger, Norway. Stavanger is a lovely little coastal city of about 150,000 souls in a metropolitan area of about 320,000, nestled among the fjords and mountains of Southwestern Norway.  The architecture reminds me of South Jersey seashore towns, but with mountains. Maybe that’s because so many of the early settlers of the South Jersey shore were Scandinavian seafarers, eh?

Had a rough North Sea crossing yesterday on a fast catamaran ferry. I had expected to spend the 2.5 hour crossing getting some work done, but because of high winds and 12-13 foot waves and a sizable swell, we were rocking and rolling pretty good. Consequently, I was too woozy to even think of looking at my computer screen, even though I was wearing seabands.

On the train from the little town of Kristiansand to Stavanger, I did get a little work done, but spent most of the time chatting with my seat mate. Once I arrived here, I took myself out to dinner (Thai) and then did a little shopping for groceries for breakfast. FInally, at 10 minutes to 11 PM, just as the sun was starting to set, I went to bed.

So there went that day. So much for my intentions of getting all my work done. But here is is 3 AM your time on the East Coast, I have had my breakfast, and I’m ready to roll on getting a couple of Liquidity Trader reports to you before New York opens for the short pre holiday session.  Onward!

I will post a comment about the market a little later, after Your rope has been open for a couple hours.
