One major positive effects of Covid-19 vaccinations have been made plainly apparent in new Office for National Statistics data for England. As this infographic shows, of all Covid-related deaths in the country from 2 January to 2 July 2021, 37.4 percent of these were people that had not yet been vaccinated to any degree against the illness.

The fast-working vaccinations limited the share of people dying within 21 days of their first jab to 23.5 percent, while the efficacy of a second-dose is really shown – just 1.6 of deaths occurred in people who had been vaccinated twice up to 21 days prior, and a minimal 0.8 percent once these 21 days had passed.

This chart shows Covid-19 related deaths in England in 2021 by vaccination status.
