While the death toll from the coronavirus in the United States was back on May levels in August, deaths counts have only recently began to grow again in Europe. Detected COVID-19 infections have been increasing in numbers on the continent for a while, but deaths were slow to follow suit.
Brazil, the third most affected country by the virus, experienced one continuous wave of the disease with death counts remaining at a high level for months. Most recently, fewer have been recorded.
According to figures available on Worldometers, Germany has experienced significantly lower rates of death throughout the COVID-19 outbreak than its European peers.
