Fly the Empty Skies

I haven’t been in an airport for seven months. As some of you know, I used to travel with annoying regularity. I haven’t missed the routine. Anyway, we made our way to San Jose International on Thursday, and I wanted to show you what it was like, since I know the culture around here is a little more cautious than some other parts of the country.

Here’s the bustling, rambunctious main hall of the airport.

And the claustrophobically-cramped security line.

And, if you can manage to find a spare seat, you can wait for the plane.

I’ve got to say, I don’t miss the people at all. And the views can be pretty once airborne.

It’s cold as a witch’s teat out here, but I’m spoiled by this kind of unpredictable Palo Alto madness:

Anyway, I’d rather be with my dawgs, but one has to do this kind of thing from time to time. Between the empty freeways and the abandoned airport, I’d like to tip my hat to Covid-19 for getting rid of everybody.
