It does seem like an evil character from the Batman franchise, The Joker, is running the global central banks. Central Banks are going negative in a big way, terrifying Gotham City investors.
For example, there are now 17 European countries in the negative zone at the 2 year maturity.
And 13 European countries (and the European Financial Stability Facility (SFSF)) are in negative territory.
Yet Europe is still mired in low GDP growth (sub-2%) as is the USA. And Europe can’t seem to generate any inflation, even with negative interest rates.
At least the USA is at 0.6% GDP growth for Q1, according to the Atlanta Fed.
Is The Joker running the global Central Banks?
We had better hope that Janet Yellen and the FOMC don’t go full Joker on us and lower rates into negative territory!!
