Years ago, before R. Murdoch bought it, the WSJ published an article on a study that tested monkeys’ interest in other members of their group.
Each watched a slide show of various members of their group, and views of various parts of the groups’ bodies. To view a slide longer they had to give up some cherished cherry juice, which they loved.
They would only give up cherry juice to look at dominant members of the group, members of the opposite sex that appealed to them (read important, or attractive, people) and the bottoms of members of the opposite sex.

Our cherry juice is our time and money. We, fortunately, have a spirit as well, though, which is offended by our animal body’s desires.
Watching an important monkey like Ben Bernanke, or royal monkeys like Prince William and Princess Kathrine, is, apparently, worth some cherry juice to a lot of human monkeys.
