Not one dime cut from SS or Medicare, until we chop the size of the federal workforce in (at least) half – particularly the defense budget.
I have zero problem with reforming entitlements; e.g., delaying the eligibility age for SS – makes sense as life expectancy increases. But let’s get real here: we’ve been cutting back SS, and building the size of the military and prison system, since 1980. We spend more on defense than the rest of the world, combined, and have the highest incarceration rate in the world. How much further is it going to be possible suck up to the big corporations, anyway?
