Experts suspect official cover-up over radiation leaks

Japan radiation leaks feared as nuclear experts point to possible cover-up

Nuclear experts have thrown doubt on the accuracy of official information issued about the Fukushima nuclear accident, saying that it followed a pattern of secrecy and cover-ups employed in other nuclear accidents.

I don’t understand this stuff, ain’t too interested. The Automatic Earth posted following link.

Realtime radiation data collected via the System for Prediction of Environmental Emergency Dose Information (SPEEDI)

“Radiation values measured by the observatory are not zero even during normal time due to because of cosmic rays andnatural radiation from natural radioactive materials in the air on the earth. When it rains, narural radioactive materials such as radon in the air fall down onto the ground. Therefore, measured values temporarily go up.Even when it thunders, yellow send flies, or nondestructive tests with the use of isotopes are conducted nearby, measured values sometimes go up.Because indicated space radiation dose rates are rounded off to positive numbers, they may differ from data shown on prefectual websites.Data are sometimes not transmitted because of maintenance or for other reasons.”
