History repeats itself.

Mary, Queen of Scots, married the Dauphin of France on April 24th, 1558, setting up a struggle for the Crown of England. Mary ultimately lost the struggle and was beheaded.

Flash forward to today. Scottish National Party leader and First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, who looks and acts like Germany’s Angela Merkel, has told the BBC that Holyrood could try to block the UK’s exit from the EU. (Holyrood is another name for the Scottish Parliament).

Thus creating an economic marriage to France and Francois Hollande, the new Dauphin of France.

I was asked by several media sources last week to comment on Brexit and I told each report to read Article 50 of the Treaty of Lisbon before writing a story. Article 50 is the proverbial monkey wrench in the works. No one was interested in discussing Article 50, although it may now be in play.

Is this another Jacobite rebellion by Scotland? Except this time it is an economic rebellion against the UK and not a religious one.

Sturgeon looks like Germany’s Merkel and acts like France’s Hollande. Definitely an economic Jacobite.
