Here’s A Pretty Good Excuse For No Posts on Monday

I wrote the last two Pro Trader Market Update reports while sitting in a hospital bed this weekend after having had a small heart attack on Friday. On Monday I’ll have a procedure to correct the problem, and should be as good as “slightly used-reconditioned” in a few days.

When I started having severe chest pain after lunch on Friday, I chewed a bunch of aspirin and called 911. The fantastic Palm Beach County fire rescue personnel were at the house treating me within minutes. They got me to the hospital in just a few more. The ER people at Good Samaritan hospital were also great, as are the entire medical staff caring for me. I thank them all for their professionalism and their patience as I peppered them with questions and weak attempts at humor.

Unfortunately, with the constant barrage of tests, probes, scans, and sticks, along with visits and calls from friends and family, I just couldn’t get much work done!

On Monday morning I will have cardiac catheterization and a probable angioplasty and insertion of a stent in a partially blocked artery. I should be back in my room in the afternoon and should be able to go home on Tuesday.

I suppose not coincidentally, this happened to me at almost the same age that my father suffered a minor heart attack. He had an angioplasty a few months after that procedure was first introduced in the 1980s. He subsequently had another 23 years of good health. His heart was fine all the way and he continued working until he was in his early 80s. I expect to do the same. I look forward to serving you for many more years.

Unfortunately I won’t be able to post any Pro Trader reports or third party posts on Monday, and I suspect that I might not feel like doing much on Tuesday either. The doctors tell me I should be able to get back to the computer in a few days. Please check back on Tuesday for a schedule update.

I look forward to getting back to work as soon as possible. As an impatient patient, I thank you for your patience, support, and good wishes.

    Dear All,

I’ve just received a call from Lee, live from his hospital bed.

He sounded good and was in good spirits, even though the news was bad:  that the artery that’s blocked is “the widow maker,” and that it’s 90% obstructed and can’t be remedied with a stent.  He’s scheduled to go for bypass surgery and will be out of it for a few days.  As he put it, it was “the 2nd worst possible outcome, and I don’t feel like discussing the first.”

So, please join me in sending our positive thoughts, best wishes, love and prayers (and whatever else we have to deploy) for an easy procedure and a quick, speedy recovery.  We’ll hope to see Lee back here by or even before the weekend.

I’ve just been told that Lee underwent triple-bypass surgery and is now in recovery.  He was out of
it yesterday but is awake today.  He’s going to be fine.
He’s apparently eager to get back online within the next few days… but only if the doctors will let him.
Very happy to be able to report this good news!

If he doesn’t change his diet to whole foods – organic – plant based w/ raw plants — he’ll continue to have problems. Watch “food Matters” on Netflix. Cardiovascular problems (and cancer, etc) are reverseable diseases with a proper diet
