The US Treasury will hit the market with its biggest slug of supply in a while this week. Banks and foreign central banks will need to step up their buying to keep the markets from succumbing to the additional pressure. Unlike at mid month when the Fed settles its MBS purchases, it gives the market no help at the end of the month. If the FCBs and banks don’t step up, the markets will have a problem.
